In a statement from Del Rio Police Department the Val Verde County Sheriff's Office Says:



The Val Verde County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating a suspicious device located in Val Verde Park Estates.


As a precautionary measure, residents on Grissom Drive between Texas Street and Lisa Street, as well as residents on Rusty Drive, are being evacuated. Sheriff Joe Frank Martinez has requested assistance from a specialized task force to ensure a thorough and safe investigation.


A temporary shelter has been established at the Tony Faz Center, located at 315 East Chapoy, for affected residents.


The Sheriff’s Office will provide updates as additional information becomes available. We appreciate the community’s cooperation and patience as we work to ensure everyone’s safety.
