Tightwad Thrift Grand Re-opening!

Saturday, May 17, 2025, was a special day for local thrifters as it marked the official re-opening of Tightwad Thrift. The event featured vendors, music, food, and a 10% discount on all stock.

The grand re-opening of Tightwad Thrift featured multiple vendors including: Three Sisters TX, Dollhouse, KQ Syrups, Rayne's Croc Charms, Gorditos Creations, and Creations by C & O, all featuring original creations, clothes, and or trinkets. The event also had food and refreshments catered by Tacos El Gordo and Mini Enterpreneurs, who sold waters, Bolis, and snacks.

When asked what her feelings were about the reopening and what shoppers can expect, Victoria Silva, owner of Tightwad Thrift, responded, "[I'm] super excited, I was nervous at the beginning cause I'm introducing a lot of new things to the store... Before we just had thrift inventory, so stuff that was sourced, washed, and then donations; now the biggest difference is that we have a consignment rack... in the very back of our shop is the shop by the pound room that's going by the name Pound Town, essentially there's a whole bunch of stock, that I haven't gone through, that's available for sale by the pound... and then of course in the middle between the two is our plant store [Aloe There], that we have all sorts of plant's available."

The location now features two other shopping experiences within the store, Pound Town and Aloe There. They also feature a clipboard wall where business owners can come inside and place their business cards and event flyers on the wall for potential customers to see. Tightwad Thrift is a prime example of a business helping it's community by supporting others in their endeavors.

Despite multiple challenges, hardships, and the hot Texas heat, these talented and dedicated entrepreneurs fought through to the end in order to showcase community and sustainability.
