DRHS Media Tech Students Place 1st & 2nd at Regional High School Film Festival and Ram Awards

The SFDR-CISD CTE department proudly announced via their social media accounts that students from their Digital Communications and Media Tech programs placed 1st and 2nd at the Breezeway Film Festival. 

The Breezeway Film Festival is an annual regional film festival held between Del Rio High School, Eagle Pass High School, and CC Winn High School students where talents are showcased through short films and music videos. This year, Del Rio High School students earned 1st and 2nd place in the Short Film categories and 2nd in Music Video.

Practicum of AV student and Digital Communications CTE student ambassador, Angela Garcia, took home 1st place in Short Film, AV 2 student, Ayden Patiño, earned 2nd place in Short Film, and AV 1 student, Jorge Nava, placed 2nd in the Music Video category. “Their creativity, hard work, and professionalism truly stood out. We are incredibly proud of how they represented the [DRHS CTE] program,” SFDR-CISD shared.

The first place winner, Garcia, won for her short film about grieving the death of a parent, second place short film winner, Patiño won for his chilling horror short, and the second place music video winner, Nava, placed for his romantic take on a music video for the song “Lover’s Rock” by the band, TV Girl.

The Ram Awards were also recently held on Tuesday, May 20, recognizing Media Tech students from Del Rio and Eagle Pass High Schools. The full list of winners and their categories are listed below:
